Description

Our first in-person event ... barring any unforeseen changes! A Musical Affair is a novel about divorce, deception, love affairs, expensive secrets, long overdue forgiveness, the power of beautiful music, and just how Celeste, with a little help from some new friends, manages to raise over $300,000 to fund an international music festival and turn her life around. Names have been changed in order to protect some men in the story who should have been ashamed. Sometimes it’s not the music that matters, but the money. What if the life of your grandmother, even a grandmother you never knew, is somehow woven into the fabric of your dreams, your desires, and your destiny? Knowles’ riveting novel, The Inevitable Past, challenges the notion of who we are and what compels us to make life changing decisions as it carries us from the past to the present through two cities, two centuries, and some terrible secrets buried in the past. Based on the author’s experiences with the shadow of her grandmother’s ghost. It’s a story that will haunt you. Due to State and QRB COVID 19 policies seating is limited. Admission with the purchase of either A Musical Affair or The Inevitable Past. All books will be signed in advance. Carrie Jane Knowles has published five novels, a collection of short fiction, a memoir about her mother’s journey with Alzheimer’s, and a writing workbook. She writes a personal perspectives column for Psychology Today: Shifting Forward. She was the 2014 North Carolina Piedmont Laureate in Short Fiction. ________________________________________ Please note this is scheduled as an in-store event. Health and safety guidelines will be provided to all attendees closer to the event date. All in-person attendees must comply with Quail Ridge Books' COVID safety policies.
