Morristown Senior Named A Mayo PAC Student Of The Month

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Mayo Performing Arts Center named Morristown High School's Roshan Sapra an April 2021 Music Student of the Month. The senior was among several Morris County students honored as "outstanding percussionists." Sapra and awardees will receive certificates and get featured on the Music Student of the Month page of MPAC's website. Normally, honorees would get recognized at an MPAC event. The organization says coronavirus regulations prevent them from doing so, but they want to continue honoring local music students. Students receive nominations from their teachers and get chosen through the Theatre's Education Department based on "their commitment to and excellence in the performing arts." David Gallagher nominated Sapra and wrote the following: "Roshan is an incredibly talented percussionist who has been an outstanding member of our ensembles all 4 years in high school. He has been in our wind ensemble since his sophomore year and for our first ever virtual winter concert he was the featured drumset player in our combined rendition of Sleigh Ride. He has also played drumset with our jazz band and pit orchestras. This year Roshan also demonstrated tremendous leadership and expertise as our drumline captain in our marching band."
