Description

MADISON, NJ — Madison will have a contested Democratic primary for Borough Council. However, Republicans won't have any options on a candidate to represent their party. Three Democratic candidates will run for two available Borough Council positions. Debra Coen and Eric Range will run as a ticket, while Thomas Haralampoudis will campaign on their own. No one filed a petition by Monday's deadline to run as Republicans, according to borough officials. Coen is running for re-election, while Council Member Astri J. Baillie has opted not to. New Jersey's primary elections take place June 8. Independent candidates can file to get on the ballot by Aug. 30. Thanks for reading.
