Description
Honor the full moon and ourselves with the help of ceremonial cacao, and top it off with some ecstatic dance. Whether it's your first or 500th cacao ceremony, it's bound to be a little different than what you're used to. I work intuitively with the group and vibe off their energy to make the ceremony as beneficial as possible for everyone in attendance. I am a comedian though, so often I will use laughter to break the ice. This ceremony we will honor the full moon, allowing ourselves to open to its magic. We'll share a nice warm cup of cacao and give gratitude for it's ability to help open our hearts. And we'll "dance like nobody is watching"...quite literally, as we join in some ecstatic dance! Logistics: Tickets will be limited and must be reserved ahead of time with a $38 donation in order to maintain distances. The event will be held at AfterHours dance studio. You must enter around the back. What is a "cacao ceremony? Cacao ceremonies are a form of energetic healing. By tapping into the power of theobromine, aka the bliss molecule, and the spirit of Mother Cacao, we’re able to connect to ourselves, our hearts, and the world around us more freely. Cacao ceremonies can help release pent up or negative energies, increase the flow of positive energy, and reconnect you with your inner voice and spirit guides. They’re great as a daily practice of gratitude and can be the perfect kick-start you need when trying to manifest. Ceremonies typically include sharing and releasing spiritual blocks, drinking the ceremonial cacao, a guided meditation, and intention setting. The energy of the group and the cacao spirit may guide the events to meditation with crystals or writing out your intentions, but materials will be provided for these types of segways. Attendees should bring a yoga mat or towel and may wish to bring a blanket. Each person should bring a clean mug for the cacao (which will be provided). You may also want a small snack for afterwards, some water, tissues, and a notebook to record your experiences, but these are not required. What is "ceremonial cacao"?I use Keith's Cacao which is 100% organic, minimal processed (and not with machines), and ethically sourced. Some important information to note about cacao: IMPORTANT CACAO AND HEALTH INFORMATION (from Keith's Cacao) Cacao is bitter:100% pure cacao is bitter. As with any bitter, too much can make you nauseous. Most drink less than 2 to 3 ounces (57 to 85 grams) of cacao a day. Over time, as your body attunes to the cacao, you may find that you need less cacao to feel the full effect. Less can be more. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. Antidepressants:Depending on dose, SSRI antidepressants and anti-psychotics are not compatible with the MAOI's (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) in cacao. Low to average doses should be ok, people on higher doses should drink less cacao. Check with your doctor. Heart Rate:Our cacao will raise your heart rate slightly. If an increase in your heart rate could cause a medical problem, drink less. Check with your doctor. Blood Pressure:Many folks with low blood pressure tell Keith that our cacao (low-caffeine) stabilizes their heart and helps them. Check with your doctor. Other substances:Our cacao increases blood flow to the brain by 30-40%… so any other substances in your blood will be amplified. Caffeine:Keith is often asked by people with a caffeine intolerance if they can use cacao. The caffeine content of cacao varies widely amongst cacao varieties and cacao makers. Most find our cacao to have a very low, to no-caffeine feel. Pregnant and nursing women:Most babies, in or out of the womb, do really well with mom consuming our cacao, and we know of many awesome 'cacao children'. About 1oz (28gm) in the first 2 trimesters, about 2/3oz (20gm) dose in the last trimester. There are a few fetuses and breast-fed babies that do not like cacao... it is not a problem, but they will let you know so start easy and find what is right for you. We recommend 2/3oz (20gm) while breast feeding until it is clear how the infant reacts. Children:Use less, according to the child’s body weight. It depends on the child. They will let you know. Children who have had an appropriate amount of cacao are more focused. The ticket bearer assumes all responsibility and liability for their participation in this event.
