Description

A perspective on growing up black in Pleasanton In today's climate, where some have chosen violence due to racism, I thought it appropriate to share the thoughts of Jonathan Epps, who was the keynote speaker at this year's Martin Luther King Legacy Awards Breakfast, hosted by the Pleasanton Community of Character just two months ago. Jonathan and his sisters are triplets and grew up in Pleasanton, attended Harvest Park Middle School and Amador Valley High School. Jonathan went on to Morehouse College where he graduated as valedictorian in political science and received a Fulbright scholarship. His talk is posted on the Community of Character website, his comments begin about minute 21, if you'd like to browse forward directly to his talk.
