PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia is now offering walk-up coronavirus vaccinations for those 65 and older on Wednesdays. Officials Wednesday said walk-up clinics will be held each Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at three health centers in the city. Centers offering "walk-up Wednesday" clinics are Health Center 3 Annex, 4219 Chester Ave.; Berks Street Annex (Health Center 5), 2001 West Berks St.; and Health Center 10, East Side Courtyard entrance, 2230 Cottman Ave. Appointments are not needed on "walk-up Wednesday," Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said. Each center is offering the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine and is capable of vaccinating 50 people per day. As of Tuesday, 561,564 people have been partially vaccinated and 327,591 people have been fully vaccinated. Farley has said 80 percent of coronavirus deaths in Philadelphia have been among hose 65 and older. Philadelphia Department of Public Health statistics show among those 65 to 74 years old, 37.8 percent have received at least one dose and 48 percent of those 75 and older have received at least one dose.
