District 157-C Students Submit Art For ArtWorks Virtual Event

FRANKFORT, IL — Over 80 District 157-C students submitted their artwork for the virtual ArtWorks Festival, the district said. Artwork was created during art class throughout the school year, and students from every grade in the district participated in the annual event. According to the district, submissions included self-portraits, clay donuts, collages made with scrap paper and magazine clippings, mandalas, cityscapes, and 3D creations made with chipboard, tempera, and wire. Artwork chosen for this year's contest was created by the following students: Grand Prairie Elementary School Chase Zamazal, Dante Herron, Annabelle Machamer, Brody Johnston, Bayne Brown, Addy Lavin, Charlie Fagan, Kaivan Shah, Joey Zehner, Brennan Egglesfield, Lukas Chmura, Adalyn Edwards, Mia Pikor, Joey Costa, Reese Hermes, Emma Thomas, Harper Lepore, Olive Frausto-Marshall, Ryan Stauffacher, Ruth Tarala, Sofia Abed, and Peyton Nolan Chelsea Intermediate School Sydney Knieriem, Madelyn Wagner, Declan Hannigan, Harper Petrow, Emily Scaletta, Kyle Wilamowski, Mia Hartmann, Delaney Riemen, Kylie Miller, Morgan Stoiber, Avery Johnson, Emma Roderique, Reagan Johnson, Madelyn Lepore, Jayla Thomas, Piper Asleson, Leia Andrews, Annie Delesio, Molly Smith, Briella Etchison, Julianna Wodark, Maya Asleson, Paul Bolton, Brady Sandling, Megan Egglesfield, Robert Thielmann, Samantha Pacis, Henry Johnson, and Elle Shannon Hickory Creek Middle School Kristen Stingily, Emily Vodges, Kate Vock, Samantha Jarosik, Abigail Bunch, Gracie Caruso, Kate Vock, MJ Schley, Kaycee Pitula, Ella Serauskis, Lyla Slevin, Kylie Campbell, Emily Skopek, Alexandria Smith, Abigail Mandernach, Olive Royce,Gwen McClain, Mikail Ahmad, Samantha Mohorek, Ellie Labuda, Aerin McCreary, Maddie Flories, Rebecca Brewer, Rocco Triolo, Shaylin McMartin, Sae Nagashima, and Alina Puri Normally, ArtWorks is a day-long event full of exhibitions and workshops, but the event was held virtually this year. The online exhibition features art from Frankfort 157-C, St. Mary's School, Manhattan 114, New Lenox 122, Lincoln-Way District 210, Mokena 159, and Providence High School, the district said.
