We’re a well-established company with an excellent reputation seeking Residential & Commercial Painters for interior and exterior residential and commercial projects in Cortland, Ithaca, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities & Duties The Residential & Commercial Painter will regularly: • Work alongside a crew of painters under the direction of a site foreman to complete all aspects of the project from prep to paint to clean-up in a competent and timely manner and to the highest degree of craftsmanship, including: o Protecting all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping. o Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping old paint, using sandpaper, etc. then cleaning and priming the surface. o Patching and repairing drywall and trim as needed. o Paint surfaces according to the site foreman’s instructions with both traditional and modern painting tools. o Clean-up the job site on a daily basis and keep the work area tidy during the work day. • Follow health and safety procedures as instructed by the site foreman at all times. • Interact with customers and other crew members in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner at all times. As needed, the Residential & Commercial Painter position will also require: • Availability to work overtime and on Saturdays when necessary to complete our obligations to a project. • Willingness to work on scaffolding and on high ladders Qualifications & Skills The successful applicant for this position must have: • A high school diploma or GED. • A valid driver’s license. • Access to a reliable vehicle to work sites across the Central New York area. • Experience in residential and/or commercial painting, or experience in a similar trade such as landscaping or construction and a willingness to learn new skills. • A solid work ethic and a commitment to be a reliable and professional addition to our team. • A commitment to a high standard of quality and attention to detail, as we promise our customers the highest quality workmanship and a clean work site. • Good communication skills when interacting with customers and other crew members.
