Looking for cover band intel

I've been in the area for about 9 months, and I am considering getting a cover band together. I play guitar and bass and can sing lead or backup. Mostly just looking for info on the scene here. What kind of music does well in bars and clubs here? Does this area prefer small acoustic groups or full bands? Are there people or places to avoid or target? Any info would be great!
