Description

I am a 40 year old man hoping to find people to play improvised groove-based music with in the Beacon/Cold Spring area. I play guitar but recently picked up bass and would likely want to focus on that. Having put most of my creative energy into establishing my career as a therapist for the last 10 years, I would like to make playing music a more central part of my life. Music I like: Electric Miles Davis, Weather Report, Headhunters, Lonnie Liston Smith, Sun Ra, Gabor Szabo, Azimuth, Mulatu Astatke, Hendrix, Captain Beefheart, Bill Laswell, Lee Scratch Perry, Scientist, John Scofield, Medeski Martin and Wood, Tortoise, Khruangbin, Heliocentrics etc. My wife and I have yet to be vaccinated so I am not quite ready to start meeting in person. Hoping to get something started in the summer. I am posting now to try to reach a bunch of people and build a list of interested parties. Look forward to hearing from you!
