Job Title: Lawn Mower Operator/Laborer Shift: Days Salary: starting $18.00 Hourly, DOE, Year end bonus Location: Spokane, WA and vicinity POSITION DESCRIPTION Under direct supervision performs a variety of yard laborer activities including but not limited to mowing grass, trimming bushes/trees, collecting and disposing of yard debris, lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading equipment, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs routine laborer tasks on a regular (daily) schedule such as cleaning up yard and plant areas. Responds to special requests such as moving, carrying materials by hand or hauling materials with a container. Cuts grass, mow, edge lawns, rake and blow leaves, pull/chop weeds, prune, haul topsoil and mulch. Ability to operate hand and power tools, to include string trimmer, push mower and/or riding mower. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers. May be required to assist in the loading and unloading of supplies and/or equipment. Other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Able to speak and understand English. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Work is performed primarily in an outdoor yard environment, subject to variations in temperature and weather, equipment noise and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds. May be required to perform specific tasks that involve bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling. Ability to perform repetitive motions. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Entry level and experienced positions are available. Previous experience desired, but not required. Must have own transportation and phone. Valid ID required.
