Position Summary We are seeking a Yard laborer at our Auction Site in Spokane, WA. The Yard laborer is accountable to organize, stage, clean, and display all machines, equipment, attachments, and tools offered in each sale; to organize, maintain, and clean designated areas of the facility, and to provide loading/unloading support to customers in a safe, timely, efficient, and courteous manner. All candidates must qualify to work in a drug-free environment and be able to pass a background check. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: *Assist with day-to-day operations of the yard, including managing inventory receiving, auction set-up/staging, and vehicle documentation/check-in. *Help customers load their equipment purchases and answer their questions related to the yard. *Ensure excellent service is provided to customers. *Maintain work area and yard area in an organized manner. *Operate all types of heavy equipment and trucks. *Perform work assigned by Yard Inventory Supervisor to ensure successful operation of the yard. Qualifications: *Minimum 1 to 2 years work experience as a warehouse worker, yard attendant, utility worker, or applicable industrial maintenance experience. Familiarity with compact construction or allied equipment very helpful. *Must have a valid Driver’s License, have forklift experience, and be able to become certified to operate a forklift. *Ability to safely operate a broad range of construction equipment including aerial work platforms, telehandlers, backhoes, excavators, and skid steers. *Ability to safely and effectively load, bind/secure, and off load construction equipment and freight during a shift assignment that could last between 8 and 10 hours. *Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations. *Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline sensitive environment. To perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following activities: *Long periods of standing, stooping, bending, squatting, or working in a prone position *Climb on, off, and under large equipment and trucks. *Work outside year-round, no matter the weather. *Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Accommodations will be made if they are reasonable, do not create an undue hardship, and will enable an individual with a disability to safely perform the essential job functions. *Work overtime, including weekend hours during each sale. You can expect to work extra hours for 2-3 weeks prior to each sale, during each sale, and for 1-2 weeks after each sale. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
