Mt Baker Products, Bellingham's premier plywood manufacturer, as an immediate opening for a Press Helper on Swing shift (Monday-Friday, 2:00-10:30 pm). Overtime, including weekends, may be required. This is an entry level position; we provide training. An alternate work schedule during training may be required. JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES*: • Load press at a productive pace to ensure panels do not dry. • Blow off panels using pneumatic air tools in tandem with another press helper. • Clean press to ensure there is no build-up or residual debris. • Use conveyers to move plywood to pre-press and hot press. • Work closely with Quality Control (QC) team to ensure product meets established standards; report any quality or productivity concerns to QC department. JOB REQUIREMENTS* • Ability to work safely while meeting productivity requirements. • Ability to wear assigned personal protection equipment (PPE). • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and follow supervisory direction. • Ability to stand for long periods on a raised platform. • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly. Prior experience working in positions requiring continuous movement (such as custodial, construction, package delivery) are very helpful. • Be willing and available to work overtime, including weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Press Helper position requires continuous movement and exertion, including bending, reaching, twisting, grasping, lifting and standing for long periods of time on a moving and raised platform. Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
