We are seeking a full time diesel mechanic that is experienced in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing various types of construction equipment and vehicles. Summary Primary duties include inspecting heavy equipment and vehicles on a daily basis. Following manufacturer maintenance schedules. Tracking and scheduling safety recalls. Keeping inventory of parts and supplies. Responsibilities • Perform daily equipment inspections and repairs. • Maintain repair log for each company vehicle. • Locating and ordering parts and supplies. • Following DOT, CHP and CARB guidelines while performing repairs. • Maintain work area organized and free of any safety hazards • Coordinate repairs with the dispatcher to reduce impact on scheduled work. Skills and Abilities • Minimum 5 year experience in heavy equipment and fleet maintenance required. • ASE Certified preferred. • Must own an appropriate tool set to successfully make repairs. • Ability to operate a manual transmission. • Punctual and reliable. • Strong organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills. • Professional demeanor, team player. • Experience preferred in electrical, hydraulic, diesel engines. • Computer literate, ability to learn new programs (maintenance programs). • Welding and fabrication is a plus. • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, overtime required on occasion. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
