Overview The Bay Area News Group is currently seeking an experienced Electrician to provide electrical support in various departments in our Concord facility.In this role you will: - Perform advanced electrical repairs on printing production systems equipment to include plateroom, press, packaging and offsite equipment, oftentimes under heavy deadline pressure -Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints -Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels -Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as DVM, Megger, PLC Software and Oscilloscope -Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement; and repair faulty equipment or systems -Work nights, weekend and holiday shifts as required Competencies & Skills -Must have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience working in the industrial electronics field -Experience working in a printing production business is desired. -Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work within deadlines -Excellent oral and written communication skills with multiple levels of management and across teams. -Ability to work on multiple concerns simultaneously, excellent time management skills. -Be a self-starter and able to work well independently -Dependable with excellent attendance Work Environment This job operates in a warehouse and printing plant environment. This role routinely uses forklifts, ladders, tools and equipment but also standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. This job is not a remote position; employee will report to our Concord, CA printing plant. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a physical position where work areas are tight and requires frequent stooping, squatting, bending and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear; frequently is required to stand; walk, climb stairs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
