REUSED BUILDING MATERIALS SALESPERSON, F/T, Urban Ore in Berkeley. END THE AGE OF WASTE! Help customers find their best solutions from our salvaged building materials outside, year-round. Environmentally oriented, locally owned, for-profit company. Physical labor with lots of walking and lifting, lots of customer interactions. Safe work habits are critical. Must have good people skills and be self-directed while working cooperatively with teammates to give customers excellent, friendly service. Experience with building materials preferred, but all applications will be read with an open mind. Work ethic, reliability, and a smile are most important. Must be able to work both weekend days. Will be trained to negotiate, run point of sales system. Must be able to add, subtract, write receipts, spell simple words related to building materials (we can provide a spelling sheet), and handle cash. Compensation: starting base wage plus company-wide income sharing averages $18/hr. Fully paid health and dental premiums for employee and dependents; 22 days off a year including 10 days paid; employee discount on buying for personal use.
