Peabody Police Awarded 3-Year Re-Accreditation

PEABODY, MA —The Peabody Police Department achieved re-accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission following a three-day evaluation in December. The three-year accreditation involves showing a department observes best practices when it comes to policing and practices in police work. Peabody Police Chief Tom Griffin said he was informed of the re-accreditation on Wednesday. He added that the department not only has to have these policies in place, but that it has to prove it is adhering to them through proper documentation. "I am very proud of the Peabody Police Department and the professionalism my officers display on a daily basis. I would like to commend Lt. Rich Callahan, Sgt.Tim Sullivan and Sgt.
