Position Overview Very private, busy, active, and growing extended family located in the south Denver, CO area seeks an energetic, bright, and experienced professional shared Family Assistant/Nanny to join their evolving household team. This will be a shared role providing household and childcare support to extended family members. The ideal candidate will have child development training, a passion for working with children and their families, and an empathetic and intuitive demeanor. This position will augment the nurturing, care, and companionship provided by the family and, in their absence, will supervise the children's daily activities. The role requires a healthy level of confidentiality, collaboration, critical thinking, and flexibility, with the most essential quality being an authentic passion and love for children. This position will directly report to the Household Operations Manager and will support her regularly by performing daily errands and general household duties. Duties will include grocery shopping, family errands, light meal prep, general tidying, laundry support, light housekeeping, and assisting with various administrative tasks. The shared Family Assistant/Nanny will possess an unwavering commitment to protecting the family's privacy and confidentiality. A warm, calm, outgoing, affectionate temperament is required. This role will demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn and put the needs of the children and the family first. This position requires coordination between extended family and caregivers, and a collaborative attitude will be essential. The shared Family Assistant/Nanny must strive to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for the homes and a nurturing and trusting relationship with the children. The candidate will possess the ability to move between the residences seamlessly and genuinely enjoy engaging in active, imaginative, and age-appropriate play. The ideal candidate will intuitively assess family dynamics and possess a “no task is too big or too small” mentality. This position is live-out, full-time, and must be available to work evenings (including sleepovers), weekends and enjoy frequent travel - both domestic and international, supporting the family. Flexibility in scheduling is key as this position will move between residences. The schedule is generally Monday - Friday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm with the flexibility to work into the evening and weekend as required. Family Assistant duties are primarily completed during the school day, and childcare begins after school, into the evenings, and on weekends. Start date ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate. Local candidates preferred. Seeking a long-term placement. General Duties and Responsibilities Family Assistant duties include: * Grocery shopping, family errands, light laundry & housecleaning support, and assisting with various administrative tasks. * Assist other family support team members and housekeeper(s) with hands-on tasks and last-minute requests as required. * Responsible for organizational projects as necessary (e.g., children's bedrooms, playroom, closets, rotating clothes seasonally, preparing items for donation, household supplies, etc.) * Assist with preparations for family travel, including packing. * Provide event planning support for family gatherings. * Development of household inventory checklists for supplies as requested by the family. * Willingness to pleasantly accommodate last-minute requests. * Adept in light cooking and meal-prep for the children and occasionally other family members. * Light pet care. Nanny duties include: * Ensure the safety and well-being of the children. * Provide active companionship for the children and participate energetically in physical activities such as swimming, dancing, gardening, riding bikes, etc. * Coordinate daily activities, play dates, and appointments and provide transportation. The position is responsible for getting themselves to/from work. * Assist children with homework, school projects, studying for tests, etc. * Maintain the children's current sleep/napping and meal schedules, as directed. Requirements • Previous childcare experience in a similar position is required. • Demonstrate unwavering integrity and discretion in handling confidential information. • Possess exceptional organizational skills, dedication to responsibilities, and an "above and beyond" attitude. • Experience with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games, stimulating projects and crafts, cooking and baking, scheduled outings, etc.) • Physically agile; able to keep up with young children. Must be a strong swimmer who is very comfortable supervising and playing with children in the water. • Be comfortable communicating with Parents in real-time (e.g., text, phone). Possess a strong command of the English language, and be computer savvy with proficiency in Mac and PC systems, including Office, Internet, and email, proficient in ordering online groceries, household products, etc. • Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record required; candidate should be a confident driver who is comfortable driving children. • Valid U.S. Passport required; willing and able to travel both domestic and abroad to support the family and must enjoy travel. • Legally able to work in the United States for any employer. • Standard vaccinations are required. • Flexibility in scheduling is a crucial requirement. The candidate must be willing to work overtime or more than five days a week, as required. Exact days off may vary and may not be consecutive; the candidate can usually expect to have two days off per week. • Seeking longevity and long-term commitment. Educational & Experiential Experience • Formal child development education required. • CPR & First Aid certified. • College graduate strongly preferred or (5) year’s comparable experience working in a similar role for a private family. • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers. Salary & Benefits • Compensation commensurate with experience. • (15) days of paid time off, scheduling with family approval. • Employer paid medical insurance and 401k. • Candidates must successfully complete a background investigation, employer-provided assessments, and drug screen. • Local candidates preferred but relocation considered for the right candidate. • $22 - $30/hr based on experience.
