Learn the art of blacksmithing with hands-on experience. Blacksmithing is an ancient art in having mastery over metal. In this class, you will learn the basics of the movement of metal. You will be using a hammer and an anvil to transform metals into artistic creations. Participants will also learn about the tools, history, and science behind this unique art. No matter where you are in your blacksmithing journey come to any class and continue to learn and practice. Any skill level is welcome for all classes to learn and practice. Everyone must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Bring your own bottled water. MakerSpace Charlotte dues-paying members can check their email for a monthly Access Code to unlock member discounts on Eventbrite during checkout. If an attendee is a minor, an adult must also purchase a ticket and attend the class with the minor. Face coverings are required. Masks must cover the nose and mouth, as mandated in NC. Hand sanitizer and bathrooms are available for hand washing during the event. Guests will be asked to maintain social distance during the class.
