ST. CHARLES, IL — A Chicago woman is facing felony charges after prosecutors alleged she committed sexual misconduct last year with a minor being held at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles Antoinette Perkins, 33, who worked as a juvenile justice specialist at the detention center, was charged with custodial sexual misconduct and official misconduct, according to Kane County prosecutors. Prosecutors allege the sexual misconduct occurred in October 2020, a month before Perkins resigned from her job with the Illinois Department of Corrections. Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Perkins and set bail at $25,000, but Kane County Associate Judge Salvatore LoPiccolo granted her request Tuesday to remain free without bond, prosecutors said in a news release. LoPiccolo ordered Perkins to turn herself into the Kane County Sheriff's Office by Friday. She is due to appear in court May 7.
