Ultimate Volleyball Club’s top 13U team has earned a bid to USA Volleyball Junior National Championships held this summer in Las Vegas. The Frankfort-based team competed in the Great Lakes Region Qualifier on March 6 and 7 alongside a competitive field of nearly 30 teams from clubs all across the Chicago area. After strong first-place finishes in its two preliminary pools, Ultimate punched its ticket to Nationals in bracket play. Coach Laura Sues credits the team’s success at this event not only to tireless defensive effort and aggressive serving and attacking, but also to the versatility of her players, whose dedication to improvement has not wavered despite the challenges presented by the pandemic. The team now turns its focus to preparing to compete against the premier 13U teams in the country. Team members include Charlotte Buck, Claire Daly, Quinn Hanna, Saniya Harper, Madelyn Jablonski, Delaney Purtill, Margaret Simon, Penny Smith, Cali Tierney, Casey Twietmeyer, and Ava Young.
