PHILADELPHIA — The front of a Northeast Philadelphia home was ripped off in an apparent explosion Tuesday afternoon. The Philadelphia Fire Department said the incident occurred on the 6300 block of Algard Street. NBC10 reports an explosion happened at about 1:20 p.m. According to Action News, a 61-year-old man was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Fox 29 reports another man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. It's unclear what caused the explosion. Dozens of PFD members are responding on the 6300 block of Algard Street.
