ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — In addition to Village Board, Arlington Heights voters decided on a few other races Tuesday. Among them was eight candidates vying for four seats on the Arlington Heights School District 25 Board of Education. Incumbents Anisha Patel, Richard Olejniczak and Gina Faso will be joined by challenger Gregory Scapillato on the board as the four are projected winners, according to the Cook County Clerk's Office. TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 214 (OPPOSED) Eight candidates were competing for four seats on the Township High School District 214 Board of Education on Election Day. Incumbents Mark Hineman, Mildred Palmer and Leonard Walker are projected winners in the race and will be joined by Andrea Rauch on the board. It appears Elizabeth Bauer, Richard Menninga, Tony Rosselli and Jackie Ryan came up short. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS MEMORIAL LIBRARY BOARD (OPPOSED) Three candidates were vying for two seats (six-year terms) on the Arlington Heights Memorial Library Board of Trustees. Incumbent Carole Medal, the current vice president of the board received 31.3 percent (4,033 votes) and will be joined by Sarah Galla (43.4 percent, 5,578 votes) as projected winners on the board. Emma Kaden (25.39 percent, 3,271 votes) appears to have come up short. Current trustee Christine Tangney did not run for reelection. A vacant seat, which carries a two-year term was also up for grabs with three candidates slotted on the ballot for the spot. Anne Somary is the projected winner (48.28 percent, 3,447 votes). She was challenged by Jennifer Borrell (37.13 percent, 2,651 votes) and Violet Jaffe (14.58 percent, 1,041 votes). ARLINGTON HEIGHTS PARK DISTRICT Only two candidates were on the ballot for three seats (four-year terms) on the Arlington Heights Park District Board of Commissioners. Commissioners Maryfran H. Leno (current president) and Tim Gelinas (current vice president) were seeking reelection. H. William Ploger is not seeking another term.
