Police Seeking Woman Who Took $30K From Johns Creek Bank Account

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Duluth police are looking for a woman they say used a fake ID to withdraw $30,000 in cash from a Johns Creek woman's bank account. Duluth Police officer Ted Sadowski told the Gwinnett Daily Post that on March 9, a woman came into the Chase Bank, 2697 Old Peachtree Road in Duluth. She used a fake ID and withdrew $30,000 from the account belonging to the woman on the ID. "The suspect was able to withdraw $30,000 in cash from the victim's personal account without the victim's knowledge or permission," Sadowski told the paper. The victim was notified by her bank of a new debit card being issued in her name, which she had not requested. She contacted the bank's fraud department and stopped the issuing of the new card. She then checked her account online, and saw the cash withdrawal, but no additional transactions had been completed.
