UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The COVID-19 positive rate within the Upper West Side's three largest ZIP codes continues to trend downward as the vaccination rate in the community shoots up.
The most recent seven-day COVID-19 positive average for the 10023, 10024, and 10025 ZIP codes is 1.99 percent, marking the first time the rate has collectively been under 2 percent in months.
The positive rate on the Upper West Side dropping under 2 percent corresponds with another new smile-inducing milestone.
Over 50 percent of UWS residents have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 37 percent of Upper West Siders are fully vaccinated, according to data from the city.
The community is one of the few across New York City to already reach the 50 percent first vaccination mark.
