I have a hamster I have had for about 8 months, and I got him when he was about 4 months, so now he is about a year. I am looking for a good home for him, who knows the care that a hamster really needs. for example, a cage with at least 450 square inches, at least 6 inches of bedding, proper fruits and vegetables, etc. He is free with a small cage, and all the supplies I have for him. I have a 30 gallon tank that you can buy for $50 for him, which is what I have him in right now, however, it seems like he would still want/ need a bigger cage based on his behavior. I have to find a new home for him because I got a cat a couple months ago, and now sometimes I find him sitting on top of his big cage, and it worries me that something may happen. He is not very social. The people I got him from told me he was friendly, but shy. However, he has never let me pick him up so this is not a hamster for children. He has bitten me, but only a little nibble, it never hurt, it was just more of a warning. He has let me pet his back sometimes, but he is pretty skittish.
