Local hiring list for occasional hard labor & manual ditch digging team. Work is in Eugene / Springfield or Lane county. Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of the laborer position, the worker is required to operate and carry tools, and equipment, to stay in a stationary position for extended periods of time, and to primarily dig ditches and assist others digging. Also there may be work on ladders, crawlspaces, close to the floor or on scaffolding; Work will be 100% difficult, muddy, wet and sloppy or dry dusty, hot and loud. Work will almost always involve moving mud,rock,clay,foliage, metal garbage, debris from one place to another seemingly for no reason and possibly with, last minute changes and bad planning. Good physical and cardio health required please. Ability to lift equipment, bags of sand, buckets of rock weighing up to 90 pounds from the floor to above the head several times a minute a requirement. Requires concentrated mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time. Professional dress for all weather in all seasons is required, there are no cancellations due to weather. Reliable transportation to and from job sites on time is required. Experience with efficient use of a trenching shovel and digging bar a plus. Hours are flexible and do not exceed 8 in a 24hr period, as this is a 1099 independent contractor, incidental,occasional position. Job are scheduled 2-3 days in advance. Workers will need to provide their own face mask, gloves, professional appropriate work wear for the weather, earplugs and safety googles or be sent home. Professional work wear must be plain and may not have any writing, images or logos larger than 2 inches square. Face masks are required at all times, indoor or out. Paid safety meetings. Smoke free work sites even if outdoors. No discrimination of any kind. Please do not bring drugs, alcohol, drama, conspiracy theory, small children, pets or excuses near the work site.
