Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Worcester, Massachusetts Job Type: Full Time Target Hire Date: May 3, 2021 Compensation: $18.00 per hour, generous 401K match, paid time off General Information Sustainable Comfort, Inc. performs property management and building performance consulting on buildings throughout the northeast region. The Maintenance Technician’s responsibilities will include small general maintenance projects, property inspections, clean-ups, landscaping, snow removal during the winter months and on-call services. A demonstrated desire to learn and hardworking attitude will also provide the opportunity for expanded responsibilities in other areas of our business, including involvement in larger scale construction projects. Key Activities: • Regularly execute small to medium sized general maintenance projects • Clean-up at various multifamily residential properties in the downtown Worcester area. • Assist subcontractors as required. • Inspect properties in portfolio for additional maintenance/construction tasks and report back to manager. • Work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment to ensure work gets done on time. • Track all tasks through maintenance software and update as needed. • Rotate on-call duties with other technicians and be available to respond to night and weekend emergencies. • Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: • Graduation from a vocational school, or 3 years of building trade experience required. • License to operate a motor vehicle, clean driving record and ability to pass a background check. • Possess a professional and positive demeanor in dealing with clients and team members. • Prior experience in landscaping, building construction or property management strongly preferred. • Specific experience in one or more of the following will distinguish individual candidates: landscaping, general construction, rough or finish carpentry, masonry, electrical, construction supervision, snow removal, property management. • Passion and patience for doing things correctly. • Must be OSHA 10 certified, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment (SCI will pay any certification costs). • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish a plus Compensation & Benefits: • Compensation: $18.00 hour • Generous 401K Match • Paid Time Off Primary Skills: • Relentless customer focus. • Accountable, self-propelling and independent. • Excellent oral and written communication. • Strong ability to independently set priorities, maintain schedule, and use different communication methods to collaborate with team. • Ability and desire to interact with a wide range of existing and potential tenants and customers on a daily basis in a polite, professional manner.
