And to think, this is all caused by a few Republicans. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is calling on Republicans to boycott Coca-Cola after the company stated its disapproval for a new voting law in Georgia. "If they want to boycott us why don't we boycott them," Paul said during an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday. "This is the only thing that will teach them a lesson. If Coca-Cola wants to only operate in Democrat states and have only Democrats drink them, God love 'em. We'll see how well they do when half the country quits drinking Coca-Cola." 1. Personally, I don't see a high probability here of half the country, who actually drink Coke, not drinking their favorite stress reliever because some loser with stupid ideas says to. That would make them sheep. ÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ Although McConnell said that corporations have "the right to participate in the political process," he cautioned that they should "stay out of politics." Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday that it is "stupid" for corporations to take stances on divisive political issues but noted that his criticism did not include their political donations. "So my warning, if you will, to corporate America is to stay out of politics," McConnell told reporters at a news conference in Louisville. "It's not what you're designed for. And don't be intimidated by the left into taking up causes that put you right in the middle of one of America's greatest political debates." McConnell's comments were the third time he's addressed the corporate backlash over Georgia's recently passed voting law, which came about in the aftermath of former President Donald Trump's campaign of falsehoods about the election result in the state last fall. 2. I guess this idiot does not realize that more then half of the country who actually drink Coke may boycott the company (and The All-Star Game) because they took a stand to stay in Georgia as voting rights were being abused. I would never have anything to do with such a company. I guess some CEO figured that out and decided that they just had to, beyond a shadow of a frickin doubt, get their company to take political stand, and pronto!
