ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) is seeking one (1) Tri-State Trek head intern to provide support in our annual bike ride fundraiser to end ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). This unique opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact on a large-scale event happening in the ALS community. Candidates with experience or interest in event planning, catering and/or athletic events are encouraged to apply. RESPONSIBILITIES: Office Duties - Create and maintain event lists - Create, print and organize on-site documents - Office admin duties including other ALS TDI signature events as assigned Warehouse and Off-Site Duties - Organize and clean all equipment and supplies - Audit inventory of equipment and supplies - Clean and neatly put away all equipment post event - Drive route with Events Team to understand route prior to putting up arrow markers - Drive entire route and put-up arrow markers with team of interns Day of Event Duties - Setting up and breaking down tents, tables, hanging banners, signs - Carrying and moving water, ice, food and beverages and other supplies and equipment - Execute any other duties assigned Schedule (40 hours per week) - May 1-June 7: Office duties that will require intern to work remotely and in office setting - June 7-28: Plan, execute and break down the event (will require working weekends) Desired Qualifications & Skills - Strong attention to details and organizational skills - Highly collaborative, positive and can-do attitude - Understand the high level of performance required to make a large-scale event successful - Be resourceful problem solvers - Be able to lift 35 lbs - Be on your feet for extended periods of time - Valid driver’s license - Be available to travel in state when assigned (on weekdays and weekends) Location and Salary Information Intern must be able to complete office duties remotely and in office in Watertown. Additionally, intern will be required to work onsite at our warehouse in Allston and Tri-State Trek event (all sites located in MA). Stipend compensation will be $6,000. **COVID-19 Information ALS Therapy Development Institute will be following strict guidelines recommended by the CDC to ensure this a safe event and work environment. We expect all individuals to follow these guidelines including but not limited to: wearing a mask at all times (except for eating & drinking) and social distancing.
