Those who do not provide the requested information in their response will be considered bots/spammers and will not receive a response from us. **** We are in immediate need of experienced, reliable lawn maintenance/landscape workers who are also willing and able to install Christmas decorations in the off season. Our year-round business is lawn maintenance and landscaping, but we also install and service Christmas lighting, wreaths, garland, and other decorations from Oct 1st through Christmas. Of course, what goes up, must come down, so the month of January is take-down time. This is very physical work, so you must be physically capable of safely performing the work. You absolutely must be on time every day and work well as part of a team. Our typical work week is Monday - Friday, but some weekend work will occasionally be required. The crew starts at 6:45 am, reporting to our shop area in New Braunfels (closest landmark is the Buccees at I-35 and FM306). Stop time varies based on the schedule/workload for each day. We try not to exceed 8 hours per day, but there will be some longer days, some shorter days and occasional overtime. Lawn maintenance work includes weed-eating, blowing clippings off surfaces, spraying/pulling weeds or commercial mowers and some trimming. Landscape/project work varies project-to-project, but it may include cleaning up areas and creating new beds of mulch or rocks, planting anything from small annuals to larger trees, trimming trees and shrubs, installing landscape edging and other general clean-up work. When on the Christmas crew, you’ll be pulling together the decorations for customers, loading and unloading from the trailer, installing a variety of different lights, garland, wreaths, etc. according to the decoration plan/map, testing the lights, setting timers, and making service calls when there are issues at a customer site. Some of the lighting may be up on roof ridges or eaves, while some adorns the windows, doors, shrubs, and trees. The individuals hired for these positions will rotate among these responsibilities as needed. Uniforms (pants, shirts, caps, goggles, ear plugs) will be provided. You will need to provide and wear steel-toed shoes while performing lawn/landscape duties. Minimum Job Requirements: - Must have a positive attitude, willingness to learn and be team oriented - High school diploma/GED (or current student status) and at least 18 years old - Legally authorized to work in the US and can produce originals of the required documentation at your initial interview. No exceptions. - Valid Driver's License with clean record is preferred for all positions and REQUIRED for lead positions. - A minimum of one year, preferably three years, of recent experience in lawn maintenance, landscape experience and/or Christmas décor installation and troubleshooting. Please note that doing these things for family or friends, or as a side gig does not count as job experience. - Must be physically able to work safely on ladders and rooftops and be comfortable doing so. - Must have reliable transportation to get to and from the shop on time every morning. Our start time is generally 6:45am. Stop time varies by day and scheduled work - Willingness to work occasional (paid) overtime, including early starts, occasional long days and weekends. Overtime is not the norm, but we do need someone willing and able to work if we need to catch up from rain or other delays. - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist level and perform all other physical requirements associated with a position of this nature - Must be willing to submit to a background check - Must be immediately available to work Our pay cycle is Thursday-Wednesday, paid the subsequent Monday each week. ****Direct hire only.
