Job Description: Air General, a national cargo handling company, is looking for a Cargo Agent at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) location. Responsibilities include warehouse cargo/mail handling, loading and unloading, documentation, data entry, and above all, great customer service. This position starts at $14.50 with an increase to $15.00 after a successful 6 month probationary period and we offer great benefits - see below for details! Job Responsibilities include: Promptly sort outbound mail tendered by USPS by destination and flight number Load sorted mail onto carts by flight number and destination Operate a forklift, tug and pallet jack Segregate mail for smooth loading Establish correct weight for mail Complete paper manifest for all mail per destination Dump and scan inbound mail Complete any necessary postal logs as applicable within prescribed time frames Keep proper statistics of all mail handled Ensure mail is secure at all times Load/unload air cargo from/to vehicles/trucks Prepare, palletize, and/or breakdown cargo as needed Clean up and sweep warehouse, dispose garbage Maintain safe operation of warehouse vehicles and equipment All other duties as assigned by supervisor/management Requirements: Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks Must be able to pass a drug test High school diploma or GED preferred Must possess a valid Drivers License Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge.
