Quality Assurance Inspector Tualatin, OR Position Summary: The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector ensures the crate manufacturing processes and procedures are adhered to. This includes receiving inspection, in process inspection and final inspection. QA Inspectors are detail oriented, reliable and committed to continuous improvement. QA Inspectors also record, monitor, and analyze data to pass on to the management team. Essential Functions: Must wear steel toe boots and other required personal protective equipment. Top 3-5 essential functions and percentage of time spent on each. Inspection of product– 60% - Accepts or rejects products by verifying the product or process meets the customer specifications and requirements through physical measurements and visual inspection. - Inspect product or process with specialized tools. This may include weighing or measuring finished products, assessing moisture content of wood, visually inspecting workmanship and/or gauging product reliability. - Uses proprietary software to track, communicate and improve quality data and assists in delivery of reports to management. Improvement Recommendations – 30% - Reviews specifications, standards, and/or test plans of customer designs, and reports feedback to management. - Reviews, implements and follows up on corrective actions derived from customer complaints, customer returns, and/or non-conformances found and their root causes. - Participates in audits to ensure customer, local and company-wide compliance to specified standards. Communication to Production – 10% - Gives feedback to management and production and engineering departments, as applicable, regarding any errors or non-conformances in the assembly process through written documentation and established processes. Desired Education/Knowledge/Skills: - 6 mo. wood products manufacturing experience helpful - 1 year of proven quality inspection experience desired - High school diploma or GED equivalent - Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish preferred. - Proficient (intermediate skills) in the MS Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn proprietary software - Proficiency to read a tape measure down to 1/16th gradients - Ability to accurately convert decimal to fraction and fraction to decimal - Experience in blueprint reading desired - Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment - Ability to work well in a team environment and work unsupervised when required To apply for this position, please submit an application at:
