This position has many duties. Working with heavy equipment like forklifts to move freight from trucks. You must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, and work in hot or cold weather. The worker will check in deliveries which requires some paperwork, ensures tasks are completed safely and on time. This worker can and will take direction and requests from all departments and must make decisions regarding the management of their time and priorities of the requests. The worker should be alert, ambitious, hard-working, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions. • Receiving and documenting vendor deliveries (can also involve assisting with the unloading of these deliveries – manually and with forklift) • Distributing delivered parts, supplies, etc. to the appropriate departments in a timely manner • Emptying trash cans in the shops, sweeping and other shop housekeeping duties as needed • Keeping our parts ‘cage’ organized • Picking up supplies and parts from various local vendors and running other errands as may be requested • Helping to keep our service trucks clean, inside and out • Experience using a fork lift – Certification would be a plus • Some carpentry skills – to build shipping crates, etc. as needed • Ability to use small power tools, screw guns, drills, circular saws, etc. • Ability to handle small repairs as needed from time to time in the shop areas and offices • Assisting with the loading of signage onto trailers • Safely hooking up trailers to our service/crane trucks and making sure that all connections are properly made and that brakes and lights are functioning. Worker skills should include: • All applicants should have a high school diploma or a GED • Must provide proof you can legally work in the United States • Must provide proof of identification • Must have a valid driver license with a clean driving record • Fluent English, speaking and writing, is required and a necessary skill for communication with vendors and our teams here @ Acura Neon. • Prior experience working in a warehouse/shop environment • Knowledge of operating a forklift • Ability to work on feet for 8 hours and carry loads up to 80 pounds • Must be in good physical condition • Ability to work independently and safely • Experience of 2 to 3 years in a similar role would be preferred. Full benefits after 90-day probationary period (Medical, Dental, Vision, matching IRA) Shop Hours are M-F 7:30am – 4:00pm with occasional overtime as required
