POSITION DESCRIPTION >POSITION: Highway Guardrail Installer >REPORTS TO: Project Foreman >POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt >STARTING WAGE: $23.50/ HR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 1. VALID DRIVERS LICENSE 2. MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE 3. PERSONAL PHONE 4. DEPENDABLE TRANSPORTATION 5. TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF COLORADO TO INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO STAY IN A MOTEL 2 TO 4 NIGHTS A WEEK ON A REGULAR BASIS. PER DIEM STARTS AT $20 PER NIGHT OUT OF TOWN. 6. MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE U.S.A. AND SPEAK, READ, AND WRITE IN ENGLISH ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Remove materials from truck for installation. Install post by preparing hole for installation, loading posts into post drivers, and checking plumb and height of each post. Layout and erect material and hardware necessary for installation. Dismantle and install guardrail as required. Perform all clean-up duties required. Maintain accountability for tools and receipts. Perform all other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS To install and / or remove highway guardrail, barrier and tension cable barrier in an efficient manner while maintaining a Safe and Productive attitude. Employees who demonstrate a strong work ethic and are successful at other key employee measures will have the opportunity to attend Truck Driver Training School to acquire their CDL in order to advance to Driver, Operator and above positions within Adarand. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND HAZARDS Tools, equipment and machines that may be used on any given day by any employee such as: Company Vehicles, Punch Machine, Forklift, Hand and Power Tools, Jackhammer, Cutting Torch, etc You will be on your feet, bending over, standing, walking, and lifting / carrying 50+ lbs over your shoulders throughout the day. You will be working outside day or night in all kinds of weather conditions, and as this is Colorado, the weather can change at the drop of a hat. Perform assigned work accurately and quickly while being a team player able to follow verbal directions. Be able to perform strenuous work consistently throughout the day while lifting of up to 125 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds repeatedly. Must possess basic reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking abilities. EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalent preferred. EXPERIENCE Some construction experience preferred, and some knowledge of hand and power tools.
