Dog walkers needed in downtown Philly and adjacent neighborhoods: Port Richmond, Kensington, Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Brewerytown, Fairmount, University City, South Philly, NoLibs, Washington Square, Rittenhouse, Old City, Graduate Hospital, Point Breeze etc. Walkies has employees, instead of Independent Contractors because we value our sitters every bit as much as our clients. We want to take care of them, no matter what! This includes paid time off, Workman's Comp and everything in between... Working with Walkies is a physically active job! Our employees must be able to be on their feet for 3-6 hours at a time, walk dogs of all sizes and energy levels and be comfortable doing so in rain, shine, sleet or snow! As an employee of Walkies, you will be walking and caring for dogs while their owners are at work or are traveling, communicating with dog owners as well as tend to basic admin tasks in our scheduling software. Communicating with and liking people is part of the position! If you are NOT a people person, that's totally cool, this just is NOT the right position for you! Our Sitters: – have experience with, a love of, and a desire to work with dogs – own a smart phone & have mobile access to the internet – be physically fit & able to work and commute in all types of weather – have reliable transportation (SEPTA, bike, or their own car) – live in or adjacent to our Philadelphia service area – have excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills – have good judgement & common sense – are drama-free & 100% reliable – have the ability to problem solve & think on their feet – have the ability to represent our company effectively and professionally – have the ability to commit to and honor a 6 month contract – have the ability to take this job SERIOUSLY – be organized & detail oriented ***If applying as a Midday Dog Walker*** 1. ***If applying as a Midday Dog Walker*** Must be available Monday-Friday; minimum 2 hours daily between 11am + 3pm ***If applying as a Weekend Walker/Housesitter Must be available minimum 2 weekends per month, weekday evenings a plus 2. Live in 1 of our service areas - Port Richmond, Kensington, Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Brewerytown, Fairmount, University City, South Philly, NoLibs, Washington Square, Rittenhouse, Old City, Graduate Hospital, Point Breeze etc. 3. Have Transportation - bike, septa pass, or car (please consider parking/travel expenses) 4. Have Experience - cat or dog owner OR pet sitter/dog walker; veterinary experience is a plus! 5. Dog Walking and Handling Skills - ability to safely/correctly handle and/or care for the pets in your care 6. Must have a smartphone with email, texting, data plan (for client communication) 7. Complete our Vetting and Onboarding Process - Including a clean background check, references (professional AND pet care related), exceptional customer service, time management, and organizational skills, Orientation and Pet First Aid Program.
