Gardening and Such, a Columbia based garden restoration business, is looking for experienced well-rounded gardeners who can help us meet out clients' multifaceted gardening needs. The candidate must meet most of the qualifications below. Note: we do not consider landscaping work as helpful experience or as a qualification because the two businesses are very different.  The candidate must be familiar with a wide range of trees, shrubs, and perennials, understanding their growth habits and know optimum sun/shade conditions. The candidate must be experienced at hand pruning, knowing when and how to hand prune our common shrubs and small trees. The candidate must be comfortable working from a stable orchard ladder. The candidate must have some feel for good design principles, and have an eye for what looks good where. The candidate must have dependable personal transportation and must work well with others. All of us at Gardening and Such must be able to withstand working in our hot and often miserable summers. And we all must chip in on basic labor such as cleaning out beds or moving mulch when needed.  Our absolute base level starting wage is $15 an hour. Candidates meeting the qualifications above would start considerably higher.
