Description

Up for Adoption: Female, English bulldog mix Black/tan short hair 5 years old (Born 4/9/2016) Weight: approx. 45-50 lbs Spayed Microchipped Rehoming fee applies. This dog has been in our family for the past 5 years after being adopted from a shelter down South. After having three children, we have realized our time is being prioritized to them and not our dog. So we are seeking to re-home her to someone that has more time, attention, and space to offer. She has been raised in a fairly strict environment, so she is well trained. She obeys basic commands: sit, stay, lay down, and shake. She is house broken, kennel trained, and is comfortable riding in a vehicle. She has always been provided with chew toys, so she has never chewed on furniture or damaged anything in our home. She is trained to stay off furniture and carpeted areas of the house. This dog has been raised in a one pet family, so it is unknown how she would react to cats or other non-canine pets. She has spent significant visiting time with other dogs, so I believe she would do fine in a multi-dog family. Out in public, her interactions with other dogs are 85% good, 15% bad. We always approach new dogs with caution until an initial reaction is determined. This dog is great with children. She allows kids to pet, pull, tug, etc. on her. She is not territorial or defensive of food/toys. She has a maternal instinct. When our children were crying as newborns, she would run to us and whine until we picked up the baby and comforted them. She is very attentive and fills the role of guard dog well. The dog will need to have the standard round of shots/vaccinations soon. She is vaccinated for rabies and DA2PP until the end of Sept., but is not currently covered for fleas, ticks, etc. The information on the microchip can be changed after adoption. If desired, we will also include all of our pet supplies at no cost: bed, food, dishes, toys, brushes, shampoos, leash, and chest harness. For anyone who is interested in adoption, we would like to speak with you and ask a few questions before releasing the dog. No background checks or anything, but we would like to make sure the dog is going to a decent home.
