Description

Fiery feminists fight back! WELCOME TO SOVEREIGN WOMEN SPEAK where six brilliant women present a full analysis of how damaging the trans movement is to women and children. Sovereign Women of Washington chose Pierce County for their first event not because it is our hometown but because its recently had a spotlight shined on it due to the sexual harm whistleblowers have pointed out as being done to female inmates housed within the state. WE AS WOMEN are up against a disregard for imprisoned and abused women's safety, a medical industry looking to make a fortune off our girls suffering, and a systematic dismantling of the rights women have fought tooth and nail to obtain- facing all of these things may seem bleak but please join us to learn more about what's going on and more importantly what we can be doing to put a stop it. DOMINIQUE CHRISTINA is an award-winning poet, author, educator, and activist. She holds five national poetry slam titles in four years, including the 2014 & 2012 Women of the World Slam Champion and 2011 National Poetry Slam Champion. Her work is greatly influenced by her family's legacy in the Civil Rights Movement and by the idea that words make worlds. She is the author of four books. Her third book, "This Is Woman's Work", published by SoundsTrue Publishing, is the radical exploration of 20 archetypal incarnations of womanness and the creative process. Her fourth book "Anarcha Speaks" won the National Poetry Series award in 2017. She is a writer and actor for the HBO series High Maintenance and does branding and marketing for Under Armour. KARA DANSKY is an attorney and feminist. She serves on the steering committee of the U.S. chapter of the Women's Human Rights Campaign and as Chair of the WHRC Committee on Law and Legislation. She previously served on the board of the Women's Liberation Front from 2016-2020 and has a background in criminal law and criminal justice policy reform. She got her BA at the Johns Hopkins University and her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. BETH STELZER is a wife, mom, and amateur powerlifter from Minnesota. She founded the non-partisan, grassroots coalition Save Women's Sports, after being harassed for defending biology. In just two years, Save Women's Sport has grown from a website into an international movement that is now helping create laws to protect females. LIERRE KEITH has been a radical feminist for 40 years. She is the author of seven books, including The Vegetarian Myth: Food, Justice, and Sustainability, which has been called “the most important ecological book of this generation.” She is coauthor, with Derrick Jensen and Max Wilbert, of Bright Green Lies:How the Environmental Movement Lost Its Way and What We Can Do About It She lives in northern California with giant trees and giant dogs. She’s also been arrested six times. MEGHAN MURPHY is a Canadian writer, the founder and editor of Feminist Current, and host of The Same Drugs. In May 2017, Murphy appeared before the Canadian Senate, to oppose Bill C-16, which encoded gender identity and gender expression into Canadian law. She told the Senate: "Treating gender as though it is either internal or a personal choice is dangerous and completely misunderstands how and why women are oppressed under patriarchy as a class of people. KELLIE-JAY KEEN is a British feminist who writes under the name “Posie Parker” In March 2018 she spent 40 minutes being interviewed under caution for eight tweets spanning ten months. Susie Green of Mermaids reported her to the police and they obtained her contact details from twitter. She has not deleted any of these tweets and anyone is free to view them. They are not malicious, they were not false, the purpose is to inform and to challenge the current pro trans ideological climate. This fight is not whether you agree with her views on transgender issues as much it is that you agree that she have a right to air her views, a right to voice an opinion, a right to free speech. She is a 43 year old married mother of four living in the UK. “I am every woman, I am you.”~KJK
