WAKEFIELD, MA — More than 100 residents tested positive for the coronavirus in the 14 days leading up to Thursday's weekly state report. The weekly numbers from the Department of Public Health showed an increase in the positivity rate from 4.31 percent to 4.41 percent while the average daily incidences per 100,000 dropped from 36.9 to 33.7. There were 128 residents who tested positive over the last 14 days, bringing the total to 2,282 since the start of the pandemic. More than 10,300 residents have received at least one vaccination shot, according to separate numbers released Thursday. That means 38 percent of the town has been at least partially vaccinated. Twenty-one percent of the town has been fully vaccinated. Nearly half of the 5,764 people fully vaccinated are 65 and over. People 55-64 and over will be among those eligible for vaccinations beginning Monday. Mike Carraggi can be reached at [email protected]. Follow him on Twitter @PatchCarraggi.
