MEDFORD, MA — More than 11,000 Medford residents – about a fifth of its population – are fully vaccinated, according to the latest data from the city. As of March 30, 11,350 residents are fully vaccinated, and nearly 20,000 people have received at least one dose. The city recently marked a month of its program to vaccinate home-bound residents. A team of 120 medical and non-medical volunteers, including Board of Health staff, has vaccinated 167 residents in their homes. The Board of Health has directly provided 3,332 doses and has conducted 12 clinics, separate from appointments for home-bound residents. The effort to prioritize older residents has been successful in Medford. People 75 and older, who make up 7 percent of the city's population, and people between 65 and 74, who make up 9 percent of the population, account for 12 percent of the total vaccinations. City officials said they will have "encouraging" news in the next few weeks about their ability to administer vaccines in Medford. Click here for a further breakdown of vaccination rates in Medford.
