Carjacking Suspect Found Covered In Blood In Stafford: Police

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A Woodbridge man was accused of carjacking after a Stafford County deputy found him covered in blood on Saturday, according to a release from the Sheriff's office. The man, Jayden Lamar Hall, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including carjacking. Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, a Stafford County deputy received a report for a larceny in progress. The deputy responded and found a man covered in blood who matched the suspect's description. The man, who authorities identified as Hall, was unharmed. Authorities said Hall followed a male victim into the Widewater Village subdivision and complimented his car. Hall offered offered money if he was allowed to drive the victim's car. The victim refused, and Hall got out of his vehicle, according to police. Hall then opened the victim's car door, punched him, and placed him in a chokehold, authorities said. A witness called 911. As Hall attempted to enter the vehicle's passenger door, the victim escaped. Police said Hall tried to steal the car, but was unable to since the victim had fled with the keys. The victim, who police identified as a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries to his face and ribs, according to authorities. Hall was charged with carjacking, abduction, strangulation, malicious wounding and possession of burglary tools. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
