Clerk Punched 15 Times In Head During Assault: Hamden Police

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man they said punched a clerk more than 15 times in the head at a gas station in Hamden. Police responded to U.S. 1 Petrol at 1290 Dixwell Ave. around 11:30 p.m. on March 28 on the report of an unwanted person, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. Smith said the person, described as a man wearing black clothing, entered the store and punched the 63-year-old clerk more than 15 times in the head. The man was last seen walking northbound on Dixwell Avenue, according to Smith. The victim refused medical attention. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Jinett Marte at 203-230-4030.
