From Purdue University Northwest:
April 1, 2021
Anne Gregory, Ph.D., Director of the School of Education and Counseling, Executive Director of Concurrent Enrollment Programs and Katie Bowers, Coordinator of Academics and Accreditation received a $795,194 grant from the University of Indianapolis and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for their work "Teach Dual Credit Indiana at PNW."
The Teach Dual Credit grant is designed to support high school educators seeking the necessary qualifications to teach concurrent enrollment courses. With this grant, PNW graduate courses are included in a state-wide catalog of recommended coursework for those seeking concurrent enrollment credentialing. The grant funds high school instructors' tuition and costs of materials while they pursue 18 credit hours of graduate coursework at PNW.
One of the first of its kind, the program targets instructors who need coursework in the Humanities and Social Sciences to meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements.
PNW submitted several program areas for consideration and received approval for seven-graduate course sequences in English and History. As part of the catalog of recommended coursework, educators across the state have access to these PNW programs. The Teach Dual Credit Indiana grant exemplifies the state's commitment to providing educational opportunities and access for all learners.
