Please join us in our 7th year this year for the Annual Brian Hamlin Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament! New England Country Club will be welcoming us back for this 7th year on Monday, June 21st! We’ve had an amazing turnout each year and are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has been a part of making this event happen year after year. 2020 was an unprecedented year to say the least. We hope that despite the challenges that last year brought about, that you're staying safe, healthy, and well. We missed being able to hold this event last year and celebrate with all of you the way we typically do. This June will be the 7th anniversary of Bri's passing. Bri was a sports enthusiast, naturally-gifted athlete, and all around incredible human being. Please join us for a day of remembrance, sharing stories, laughs, and making new memories along the way. We are thrilled to be able to hold the Tournament this year! Things are going to look a bit different this year than they have in the past. The main difference will be that rather than gathering for dinner after golfing, there will be food options on the course and food to take with you upon completing your round. This makes it so that we can hold this event, while also keeping everyone safe. Sticking with tradition, we'll be continuing the scramble, best ball approach again this year. That means that you don't have to be a skilled golfer to do well, you just have to know one! ;-) Once your foursome is purchased, please keep an eye out for a follow-up email requesting the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of everyone in your foursome. This helps speed up check-in the day of the event and makes it possible to keep everyone updated as the event gets closer. More details around check in will be sent once the event nears. Please see the many options for sponsorship below and what each level entails. **Proceeds raised will be donated to the Brian Hamlin Jr. Fund to be used to increase awareness around Substance Use Disorder in our community and to help those seeking sober living and a life in recovery—two things Bri was passionate about. He wanted to share his story of recovery with others to encourage hope. Bri was clean and sober when he died. There's no conclusive explanation as to why he's not here sharing his story himself, which is something that will always be difficult to grasp. Please help us to continue his journey in his honor. To date, the Brian Hamlin Jr. Fund has made it possible for about 70 individuals to enter inpatient treatment facilities and sober living communities. The Fund has hosted events to increase awareness around Substance Use Disorder, provide resources to outreach for assistance, and remind people they are not alone. Proceeds from the Brian Hamlin Jr. Fund have also been supporting SAFE Coalition. In February of 2020, The Brian Hamlin Jr. Recovery Resource Center opened within SAFE. SAFE Coalition is a non-profit coalition of community partners in Franklin Medway, Wrentham, Norfolk, Plainville, and other surrounding towns who have come together to provide support, treatment options,and coping mechanisms for those affected by Substance Use Disorder, including family members.
