WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — A contractor who took money but didn't do the work he was paid for is charged with fraud and theft as West Whiteland Township police ask for help finding the man. A Chester County judge issued a warrant on March 29 for West Whiteland Township contractor George Brinton, 55. The West Whiteland Township Police Department reported it is investigating George Brinton Home Improvements after a township resident reported Brinton had allegedly failed to complete a project or return the victim's money for the cost of the project. Briton faces a third-degree felony charge of home improvement fraud, as well as charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, police report. Judge John Bailey issued the arrest warrant as West Whiteland Township Police look for Brinton. Police said, "Anyone that feels that they may be a victim should notify the West Whiteland Township Police Department or the (law enforcement) agency where they reside."
