LOUDON, NH — Loudon firefighters and EMTs as well as police were called Route 106 near Staniels Road for an accident on Monday. Just after 4:30 p.m., capital region dispatch began receiving calls about a head-on crash with injuries at Route 106 near Clough Pond Road. A report from 911 stated there were two cars, with heavy damage, and one driver with chest pains and the other with facial injuries. One person was unable to get out of the vehicle due to the damage, dispatch heard from the scene. "They won't say he is trapped but they are unable to open the vehicle up to get him out," dispatch said. Firefighters drove up and down the road and they were unable to find the crash. After double-checking, dispatch found out the crash was about eight miles away near Staniels Road. After arriving, firefighters confirmed entrapment with one vehicle and the roadway was closed. They also requested EMTs from Chichester. After all of Loudon's firefighters and EMTs arrived, however, the Chichester ambulance was canceled. Command at the crash scene said they could handle the situation and requested a trauma alert for Concord Hospital — for a man, in his 50s, with lower extremity injuries, and a woman, in her 20s, with chest trauma. "Both are conscious at this time," the commander said. The drivers were removed from their vehicles and taken to the hospital around 5 p.m. NEWS 603 posted video on YouTube.com. Got a news tip?
