MURRIETA, CA — The City of Murrieta and Waste Management are partnering to host a virtual workshop Wednesday, April 21 aimed at providing commercial establishments with the state's latest laws and requirements for recycling and organics collection.
The free, Zoom event begins at 10:30 a.m. and will address, among other topics, AB 1826 and AB 341, which mandate commercial recycling and organics pick-up for certain businesses, officials said.
Participants will learn how to comply with state mandates and waste-hauling services, along with hearing from a local food pantry discussing how to donate food and reduce waste.
Included in the call is a breakout session where staff will conduct Murrieta city-specific businessassessments to determine qualification exemptions under state law, plus the specificdocumentation and proof required for case-by-case exemption eligibility.
