LAKEWOOD, OH — About 15 to 20 shots were fired in the parking lot of a Lakewood bar early Monday, according to police reports obtained by Patch.
At 12:10 a.m., police were called to a bar on Detroit Avenue. They learned that gunfire had erupted in the parking lot and two cars fled the area.
Police Chief Kevin Kaucheck said a man got into an argument in the bar parking lot and then fired his gun into the air. No one was hurt during the shooting.
The suspect's car was stopped on W. 62nd in Cleveland. The driver had a Glock 19 handgun, which smelled like it had recently been fired, according to police. The driver was then taken into custody.
The second car sought by police was seen on I-90 east, but the driver did not have anything to do with the shooting, police said. The driver was at the bar when the shooting started and sped off to avoid harm, records said.
The suspect may face charges for aggravated menacing, illegally possessing a firearm, and discharging a firearm in public.
