Under the supervision of a supervisor, a maintenance ambassador performs a variety of maintenance operations within the North Park PBID. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule to include, weekends, holidays and night time shifts. General Responsibilities Remove graffiti and stickers on public property such as stops signs, light poles, sidewalks and utility boxes. Enhance street furniture and tree grates by cleaning, painting and de-odorizing the surfaces. Sweep and mop sidewalks and curbs, including removing human and animal waste • Lift heavy trash bags and empty public trash receptacles • Pick up any illegal dumped trash • Perform landscape maintenance, which involves raking leaves, cutting branches and pulling weeds in the proposed median • Respond to maintenance calls • Clean, maintain and operate issued equipment, including vehicles • Obey traffic laws and code compliance regulations • Provide customer service assistance with residents, business owners, tourists and patron • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Minimum Qualifications and Experience • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for long distances and extended periods of time • Navigate steep hills by foot while pushing maintenance cart • Must be able to perform duties in outdoor elements • Must be able to speak and write English which is clear, concise and understandable High School Diploma or GED • Must have a valid California Class C Driver's License • Must have a clean driving record • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends & holidays Ability to comprehend traffic laws Pre- Employment Requirements • Must be willing to work in a drug/alcohol free environment • Must be able to provide DMV printout upon request • Must be able to complete a medical exam (which may include drug/alcohol testing) • Must be able to provide two forms of Identification • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for extended periods • Must be able to lift up to 601b from ground level to chest high
